About The Position

We are seeking a Manager, Plant Finance, to join our team and serve as the finance leader and strategic business partner for our two manufacturing sites in Colorado Springs, CO. This role will have one direct report and provide financial leadership, operational decision support, and performance management for the plant while partnering closely with site leadership and the Advanced Purity Solutions (APS) Division. The Manager, Plant Finance is responsible for leading all aspects of plant financial planning, analysis, reporting, cost accounting, inventory control, capital investment analysis, and operational finance. The role drives financial accountability across the sites and ensures alignment between plant operations, division objectives, and corporate financial targets. This position reports to the Director, Finance Operations APS division.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive finance or accounting experience, including significant experience in manufacturing, operations finance, or cost accounting.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting plant operations and manufacturing leadership teams.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and financial planning processes.
  • Proficiency with SAP, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Proven ability to influence decision-making through financial analysis and business partnership.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate complex financial concepts into actionable business insights.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment.

  • Experience with Power BI, financial reporting tools, and data analytics platforms preferred.
  • Proven success serving as a trusted finance business partner to plant leadership and operations teams.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key member of the plant leadership team, providing financial guidance and strategic decision support to drive operational and financial performance.
  • Partner with plant management to develop and execute initiatives that improve profitability, productivity, operational efficiency, and working capital performance.
  • Lead financial risk and opportunity assessments and provide recommendations to achieve site and division objectives.
  • Drive a culture of financial accountability through KPI management, reporting, and business reviews.
  • Lead the annual operating plan (AOP), budget, monthly forecast, and long-range financial planning processes for the manufacturing site.
  • Ensure financial plans align with operational priorities, APS Division objectives, and corporate goals.
  • Develop financial models and scenario analyses to support business decisions, capacity planning, labor strategies, and investment opportunities.
  • Monitor performance against plan and communicate risks, opportunities, and corrective actions to plant and divisional leadership.
  • Own plant cost accounting processes, including standard costing, inventory valuation, absorption accounting, and variance analysis.
  • Lead the annual standard cost update process, including material costs, labor rates, overhead allocations, BOMs, and routing structures.
  • Analyze manufacturing variances, including labor efficiency, yield, scrap, inventory, overhead absorption, and productivity performance.
  • Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams to identify cost reduction opportunities and improve manufacturing efficiency.
  • Lead plant month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Develop and maintain operational financial metrics, dashboards, and performance reporting tools to enhance plant decision-making.
  • Monitor and report key manufacturing KPIs including productivity, labor efficiency, throughput, inventory turns, yield, scrap, and cost performance.
  • Drive accountability for plant financial commitments and productivity initiatives through regular performance reviews.
  • Provide financial leadership for inventory management, cycle counts, physical inventories, excess and obsolete reserves, and working capital improvement initiatives.
  • Support pricing, sourcing, make-versus-buy, and product profitability analyses.
  • Lead financial evaluation of capital expenditures, including ROI, NPV, IRR, and payback analyses.
  • Partner with Operations and Engineering to prioritize capital investments and monitor project performance against business cases.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Operational Excellence initiatives through financial analysis and benefits tracking.
  • Establish processes to quantify, validate, and report cost savings and productivity gains from improvement projects.
