About The Position

This position is responsible for the management, coordination, and execution of physical security system operations and projects across the Memorial Hermann system. The role oversees the entire lifecycle of physical security initiatives, including CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, and life-safety systems, from initial requirements definition through implementation, testing, and sustainment. The Manager is accountable for team performance, project outcomes, and execution, serving as a central project coordination point to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in alignment with organizational standards, regulatory requirements, and operational priorities. The Physical Security Manager directly supervises Security Systems personnel, establishes work priorities, coordinates cross-functional efforts, and drives execution through structured planning and performance oversight, reporting to the Regional Security Director.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, Project Management, Behavioral Sciences or related field.
  • Valid Texas driver’s license or obtained within 90 days of job entry.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Six (6) years of experience in physical security systems, and/or project management, preferably within healthcare, critical infrastructure, or similarly complex environments.
  • Two (2) years of experience supporting the design, installation, integration, and deployment of physical security systems (e.g., access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection).
  • Three (3) years of progressive management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience executing projects within defined scope, timelines, and budget constraints.
  • Experience working in matrixed or multi-stakeholder organizational environments.
  • Working knowledge of CCTV, IDS, access control platforms, and supporting infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and operational priorities.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with cross-functional partners (Security, IT, Facilities, Clinical Operations, Vendors).
  • Proficiency in standard business, technical, and project tracking tools.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes project priorities and owns execution of work plans, including task sequencing, resource allocation, vendor coordination, and risk mitigation.
  • Manage the coordination and execution of physical security system projects, ensuring clear requirements, defined milestones, and timely delivery.
  • Oversees daily operation and maintenance of electronic security systems to ensure reliability, compliance, and operational readiness.
  • Plans, schedules, and coordinates system installations, repairs, upgrades, and lifecycle replacements in alignment with organizational standards.
  • Manages and develops Security Systems personnel by setting priorities, monitoring performance, and ensuring accountability for project and operational deliverables.
  • Ensures projects are executed within approved budgets and timelines; identifies risks and escalates issues proactively.
  • Coordinates with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure seamless implementation and minimal operational disruption.
  • Establishes and enforces standards for system configurations, installations, and integrations to ensure compliance with technical and regulatory requirements.
  • Tracks project progress, documents outcomes, and maintains accurate system and project records.
  • Monitors system performance post-implementation and ensures operational issues are addressed and resolved.
  • Participates in capital and operational budget planning; manages resources in accordance with approved financial guidelines.
  • Provides system training, operational guidance, and technical support to end users and internal teams.
  • Promotes a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement in support of patient, staff, and visitor safety.
  • Supports professional development through mentoring, training, and serving as a resource to less experienced staff.
