Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Active, unrestricted pharmacy technician license and national certification (e.g., PTCB or ExCPT) required.
  • 2+ years of pharmacy technician experience in dispensing, specialty, hospital, or retail pharmacy settings, with a strong knowledge of pharmacy operations and workflow.
  • 2+ year(s) of experience in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience, with the ability to coach, develop, and manage team performance.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management, auditing processes, and regulatory compliance

Nice To Haves

  • associate or bachelor's degree in healthcare or related field preferred.
  • experience with accreditation standards (e.g., URAC or similar) highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day pharmacy operations, ensuring efficient workflow, timely task completion, and alignment with patient care priorities.
  • Coordinate staffing, scheduling, and workload distribution to support specialty pharmacy services and optimize throughput.
  • Manage pharmacy systems, inventory, reporting, and regulatory compliance within a health system environment.
  • Drive continuous improvement through process optimization, quality assurance, and implementation of new technologies and workflows.
  • Partner with Recruiting throughout the hiring process, including onboarding, scheduling, and retention of pharmacy technician staff.
  • Manage performance through coaching, feedback, and accountability, including discipline and termination decisions in partnership with Site Director.
  • Ensure team compliance with required training, certifications, and regulatory standards.
  • Identify skill gaps and implement development plans to enhance team performance and engagement.
  • Partner with Site Director, pharmacists, and health system stakeholders to align operations with clinical and patient care goals.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and patient-first service.
  • Champion change initiatives and lead the team through process improvements and program implementation.
  • Communicate effectively across interdisciplinary teams to ensure alignment on priorities and performance.
  • Ensure a seamless, patient-centered experience by maintaining high service standards and resolving issues proactively.
  • Support coordination of specialty pharmacy services, including patient onboarding, adherence support, and non-clinical care activities as needed.
  • Monitor and improve service quality metrics such as turnaround time, access, and patient satisfaction.
  • Execute policies and procedures to maintain compliance with accreditation standards that are associated with the dispensing and shipping of prescriptions.
  • Collect and report data measures required by accreditation standards.
