About the role Lead and inspire a high-performing team at the Walton Family Whole Health & Fitness Center, managed by HealthFitness, in Bentonville, AR, where member experience and whole-person wellness are at the center of everything we do. As Personal Training Manager, you will energize and develop a large team of trainers, drive meaningful member engagement, and grow personal training revenue through high-quality, consistent service. This role is ideal for a driven, people-focused leader who is passionate about fitness, thrives on coaching others to succeed, and partners closely with facility leadership to create a positive, results-driven environment where both team members and members can reach their full potential. Schedule will be: T/W/TH 8am-5pm or 9am-6pm, Fri 1pm-10pm, Sat 7am-3pm. Leads and oversees the personal training team to ensure high-quality service delivery, drives member engagement, and achieve revenue targets. This role requires a dynamic, motivated individual passionate about fitness and capable of managing, developing, and inspiring a team of personal trainers to provide exceptional client experiences. Collaborates with facility leadership to align personal training services with overall member engagement and retention goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Recreation, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant personal training/fitness industry experience working in a customer-facing position.
  • A minimum of two years of prior supervisory experience.
  • NCCA Accredited Personal Trainer certification from an Industry recognized and HealthFitness approved agency.
  • Current Adult CPR/AED/First Aid certifications from American Heart Association, American Red Cross, National Safety Institute, or American Safety & Health Institute required by start date. (Note: certification must have an in-person component and not 100% online/OSHA compliant).
  • Ability to lead, manage and operate teen/camps and aquatics program.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills including the ability to motivate others.
  • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work demands.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office including at minimum Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Must be available to work the following schedule - T/W/TH 8am-5pm or 9am-6pm, Fri 1pm-10pm, Sat 7am-3pm.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and train personal trainers and provide ongoing coaching, mentorship, and performance evaluations to develop a high-performing team.
  • Design and implement personal training programs and packages that align with HF standards, client & member expectations.
  • Research and introduce new fitness trends, tools, and techniques to keep programs fresh, profitable and engaging.
  • Engage with clients to ensure satisfaction, address feedback, and cultivate a positive and welcoming environment while monitoring client retention and actively implement strategies to foster long-term relationships and profitable growth within the Personal Training program.
  • Develop and execute strategies to meet or exceed revenue targets for personal training services and monitor team performance against sales goals, assisting trainers in reaching individual sales objectives.
  • Manage personal trainer schedules to meet client demand and ensure efficient use of facility resources. Adjust scheduling as necessary to support peak periods, events, or special programs.
  • Personal Training Manager will also assist with facility operations as related to the fitness team as needed.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly reports on performance metrics, client retention, and revenue, and ensure accurate record-keeping, including trainer certifications and continuing education.
  • Ensure accurate timecard reporting and adherence according to HF protocols.
  • Coordinate with facility operations to ensure personal training areas are clean, safe, and well-maintained, and ensure trainers comply with all health, safety, and industry certification requirements.
  • Other duties as needed/assigned.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with HealthFitness policies, procedures and applicable laws including recruiting, orienting, training, evaluating, developing and planning the succession of associates.
