About The Position

The Manager of Pediatric Cardiology Operations provides managerial and administrative assistance to the administrator of the Department of Pediatrics and to the Director and Section Chiefs of the Institute for Child Development. This position assumes responsibility and accountability for systems function, staff performance, and departmental operations.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
  • Proficient in word processing and spreadsheet software and graphics programs.

Nice To Haves

  • College or business school graduate or equivalent.
  • 5 years administrative experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Section Chief and APN Manager and Nurse Coordinator in the management of operational, administrative, and fiscal aspects of the Institute for Child Development.
  • Manages the resolution of operational issues.
  • Manages and trains the support staff making changes in operational focus in response to changing departmental and institutional priorities.
  • Coordinates with preparation for site visits and other reviews by public and private agencies.
  • Serves as liaison with Hackensack University Medical Center Departments to assure that hospital policies and procedures are properly carried out.
  • Coordinates and monitors safety and physical plant items.
  • Oversees preparation and submission of all billing for the practice.
  • Reviews, authorizes, and monitors purchase requisitions for office supplies.
  • Attends all financial meetings related to the practice.
  • Addresses patient complaints and serves as liaison with consumer affairs department.
  • Reconciles accounts on a monthly basis for hospital requisitions including check requests, and purchase and supply requisitions.
  • Coordinates and implements department telecommunications systems.
  • Serves on hospital councils/committees as appropriate and as appointed by Administrative Director.
  • Serves as telecommunications coordinator for department including telephones, voicemail, modern lines, and answering service.
  • Adheres to the standards identified in the Medical Center's Organizational & Managerial Competencies, standards of behavior and patient safety goals.
