About The Position

This hybrid position will be located at our Corporate Office in Camp Hill, PA. Expectations for hybrid in-office schedule is three days a week, typically Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Foot Locker, Inc. is hiring a Payroll Manager to join our Accounting team! Responsible for managing payroll accounting and tax functions for North America. Also oversees the payroll tax forecasting and budgeting processes for North America. The individual manages payroll tax/accounting including payroll tax payments, variance analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, hypothetical tax accounting, yearly W-2, T-4, and RL-1 creation and distribution, and quarterly and annual tax report filing. This position has four direct reports.

Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or associated field
  • 3+ years of related experience
  • Experience working on cross functional teams, multitasking, and managing time independently with little direction
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Excel, Word)
  • Strong work ethic with a commitment to achieve targeted objectives
  • Experience with and/or knowledge of PeopleSoft and running PeopleSoft queries
  • Excellent communication skills. Must be able to effectively communicate with associates at all levels, including senior executives
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize, delegate, and meet deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Manage and assist in weekly/monthly payroll tax forecast reports for Management
  • Prepare payroll tax budgets and associated analysis
  • Manage G/L account reconciliations and analytical process in BlackLine
  • Oversee the payroll tax remittance function ensuring timely and accurate payments to tax authorities
  • Present expense forecast and savings opportunities at operational forecast meetings
  • Ensure all journal entries are processed timely and accurately
  • Ensure compliance with SOX, internal controls, and Deloitte requests
  • Ensure smooth month end and year end closing process
  • Manage the hypothetical tax process for worldwide expats
  • Oversee the yearly W-2, T-4, and RL-1 creation and distribution process
  • Prepare and manage presentation of accurate, well-supported financial analysis reports
  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities
  • Ability to lead and direct associates
  • May be required to perform additional duties as assigned by supervision
  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior management, divisions, and staff
  • Must be able to analyze data and make observations
