About The Position
Shriners Children's is seeking a Manager, Orthotics & Prosthetics to join their team in Woodbury, MN. This role is responsible for planning, directing, and managing the day-to-day activities of assigned staff, ensuring the provision of quality orthotic/prosthetic devices in accordance with physician prescriptions. The manager will also serve as a resource to staff, patients, families, and the public regarding their areas of responsibility. Shriners Children's is a premier pediatric medical center specializing in burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties.
Requirements
- Must be certified in both orthotics AND prosthetics
- Current American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics required
- Current Minnesota licensure
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Card Certification required
- Minimum three years of Clinical and technical experience in Orthotics and Prosthetics field is required
- Five years of experience working in a hospital or medical office with insurance authorization is required
Responsibilities
- Planning, directing, and managing the work of the O&P Technician staff, and Department Assistant staff on all day-to-day department operations
- Establishing workflow and communication with Fabrication Center (east and west) for all custom fabrication to ensure safety and quality of all devices provided to patients
- Obtaining and maintaining ABC facility accreditation
- Demonstrating proficiency in OPIE (O&P Business Management Software)
- Functioning independently to fulfill the professional responsibilities of a certified Prosthetist and/or Orthotist, including patient confidentiality
- Other duties as assigned
