About The Position

Provides supervision of (program) staff including Coordinators, Nurse Practitioners, Transplant Assistants, and other temporary clerical staff. Coordinates staff hiring, interviews, counseling, and disciplinary action processes. Coordinates various administrative responsibilities including regulatory compliance, quality improvement reporting and initiatives, compliance with billing and coding requirements, budget monitoring and cost management, additional projects as requested by the Director. Works collaboratively with the Medical/Surgical Directors and Chiefs, toward achieving outcomes consistent with the organizational mission, philosophy, goals, and objectives of the transplant program.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited four (4) year, baccalaureate program in nursing.
  • Current license as a registered nurse (R.N.).
  • Five years clinical experience in critical care or med-surg units/departments.
  • Knowledge or experience with organ transplantation programs and services.
  • Experience or knowledge of business administration / management, statistical analyses, and/or finance / accounting / budget management.
  • Three years experience in management / supervisory capacity in acute care hospital setting.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory capacity, project coordination, or charge nurse with performance evaluation responsibilities.
  • Current RN license in the State of Florida.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in nursing or Master's degree 'eligible' (i.e. completion of academic coursework) or related health care field preferred.
  • BSN or Bachelors in other health care related field preferred.
