About The Position

AMPAC Fine Chemicals (AFC), an SK pharmteco company, is a custom manufacturer of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs, Drug Substances) and registered intermediates for customers in the pharmaceutical industry. Our integrated facilities located in California, Texas, and Virginia specialize in process development, scale-up, and cGMP compliant production from kilograms to multi-ton quantities.

Responsibilities

  • Oversight of exempt and non-exempt production employees
  • Interpret and execute policies that typically affect the supervision and union employee groups and recommend modifications to operating policies when necessary
  • Assures that all production activities are accomplished in accordance with AMPAC policies, sound business practices and are in compliance with applicable regulations as well as all bargaining union contract agreements
  • Establishes operational policies which affect subordinate multi-level functional groups. Interprets, executes and recommends policy changes
  • Provide assistance to subordinates in meeting schedules or to resolve operational problems
  • Administrator of the training program to ensure that all staff receives the appropriate level of training to perform job functions
  • Responsible for completing performance, quality, environmental and safety investigations
  • Issuing discipline for BU and non-BU employees as required
  • Uphold rules and regulations in accordance with company policies and bargaining union contract agreements
  • May be responsible for union contract administration including responding to grievances and understanding contract interpretation and negotiation
  • Responsible for tracking operations yearly goals and performing performance evaluations as required
  • Maintains contacts with inter-organizational and external representatives. May participate in briefings and technical meetings for internal and external representatives concerning specific and/or organizational projects or operations
  • Responsible for the application of manufacturing procedures which include planning and supervising of resources to support processing requirements
  • Promote and facilitate diagnosis of work flow impediments and other wastes throughout the manufacturing areas and provide counsel on appropriate tools to eliminate them
  • Plan and coordinate work programs for shift operations based on engineering needs
  • Provide planning and coordination for manufacturing operations/facilities including equipment and facility cleaning, maintenance and contractor work
  • Provide support for customer or regulatory tours of the manufacturing facilities
  • Represent manufacturing in meetings and discussions with other functional areas regarding manufacturing standards and operations
  • Responsible for completing operations readiness review for production starts
  • Participate in corrective and preventative action plans as relates to quality including participating in designing solutions, delegating tasks or the completion of actions
  • Audit preparedness of production facilities and all associated production quality documents
  • Management and oversight of quality programs to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements
  • Participate in incident root cause analysis, development and implementation of corrective actions
  • Management and oversight of environmental programs to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements
  • Will partake in safety and environmental corrective and preventative action plans. Such duties will involve designing solutions, delegating tasks, or completion of actions
