About The Position

This position is responsible for refined products and crude assets in Tulsa, Drumright, Cushing and Barnsdall, OK; southeast Kansas; Carthage, Mt Vernon and Springfield, MO; and Rogers, AR. Proactively manage our business in a safe and compliant manner to prevent incidents, and respond appropriately to those that do occur, in order to minimize the negative impacts on our team members, protect the communities in which we work, meet customer expectations, and preserve our reputation. Plan, organize and manage day-to-day operating activities for assets (e.g., terminals, stations, delivery/receipt locations) within an assigned area. Oversee and manage area leadership team. Manages one or more department/region/functional area(s) with assignments received in overall organizational objectives and goals. Determines the most effective use of resources to meet stated organizational objectives while managing overall departmental budget. Delegates assignments to subordinate supervisors and/or high-level individual contributors while providing overall guidance and consultation to the workgroup (s) in order to meet objectives. Responsible for the projects assigned to the department/functional area. Directly participates in establishing and administering many centralized functional projects and provides strategic vision for the area of responsibility. Erroneous judgments/recommendations/decisions or failure to achieve results will result in major delays and modifications to projects and/or operations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety of all team members, compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations (e.g., PHMSA, EPA, OSHA, USCG, TRRC, TCEQ, etc.)
  • Maintenance of assets
  • Compliance with the company’s Safety Management System (OMS)
  • Administration of the annual expense budget
  • Submittal of Authorization for Funding for capital funding requirements
  • Identify/implement initiatives to ensure asset optimization, without foregoing the safe and efficient operation of our assets.
  • Intentional focus on communication with direct reports to ensure understanding of expectations (to include the “why”)
  • Continuous development of each direct report (especially front-line leaders)
  • Identifying and implementing system-wide solutions.
  • Supports, counsels, and disciplines employees as appropriate.
  • Drives a positive company culture and ensures area leaders are held accountable for the same.
  • Ensures we hire people who not only meet the technical qualifications for the position, but also exhibit the cultural behaviors and attitudes we expect of our team members.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with internal team members in other functional areas (Commercial, EH&S, Asset Integrity, E&C, Scheduling, Contracts, IT, Accounting, and external customers (as applicable)).
  • Proactively engages with stakeholders to provide a consistently high level of service to customers.
  • Collaborates on the development and implementation of growth projects with a focus on maximizing the rate of return, without forgoing safety and/or compliance.
  • Active engagement in overall area performance, a stakeholder in standards/procedure development, and an advocate for initiatives focused on reducing human errors (injuries, PVIs, product contaminations, failure to follow procedures, etc.) and improving overall company performance/operational discipline.
  • Provides leadership and direction in responding to emergent issues associated with the operation of assets, including a major pipeline release event, a major facility incident (release, fire, impacts of a significant weather event, etc.), material personnel issues, staffing issues, compliance issues, etc., with the ability to recognize and immediately elevate those incidents which could have a material impact to our unit price and/or company reputation and/or our “license” to operate.
  • Responsibilities may include Department of Transportation (DOT) covered functions, including operations, maintenance, or emergency response on a pipeline.
  • Job duties also require the employee to be alert and respond immediately to dangerous or hazardous conditions, and where impaired performance, or failure to follow safety precautions, could result in serious injury or property damage.
