About The Position

Sonny's Place is a locally owned family entertainment facility in Western New England, committed to providing safe, fun, and entertaining activities. Since opening in 2008, it has expanded from a driving range to include numerous attractions like the Monkey Mahem Miniature Golf Course and Bumper Boats, along with four dining options and three fully equipped bars. The Manager on Duty (MOD) is responsible for overseeing the everyday functioning of the entire facility, including its attractions, dining, and bars. This role involves supervising staff duties, acting as an emergency contact, ensuring company policies are followed, and facilitating ongoing team development. The position requires availability on weekends, nights, and holidays.

Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods in varied weather conditions including heat, cold and rain.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Managerial experience
  • Managerial experience in a family entertainment center and/or food beverage setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision and act point of contact to all staff during shift through frequent check-ins.
  • Ensure all daily inspections of each attraction and opening checklists are completed properly.
  • Work collaboratively with General Manager to coach and deliver ongoing development/mentoring to the team.
  • Provide staff-level training.
  • Respond to all radio calls and report issues/concerns to maintenance.
  • Ensure performance standards, and compliance for attractions are met before opening and throughout the day until closing.
  • Interact with guests to ensure the experience and services are being met and resolve any concerns.
  • Train team members to ensure they are properly equipped to perform their job responsibly.
  • Assess the cleanliness of the park throughout the day.
  • Ensure all Company policies and procedures are followed throughout the day.
  • Make sure all food and beverage areas are operating in accordance with State and Federal Health Codes and State Liquor Laws.
  • Maintains reasonable, regular, punctual attendance consistent with Company policies, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Family Medical Leve Act (FMLA), and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Adapts to changing duties, as required, based on business needs.
