About The Position

The Manager, Ohio Market Contracting is responsible for leading specialized contracting efforts, handling unique contracting situations, including facilitating contracting changes and negotiations. This role involves tracking and trending, inventory and priorities, and assisting with the development and evolution of the team’s strategic direction, annual goals, and objectives. The manager will recommend new processes and changes for increased department productivity, establish and maintain strong working relationships with key internal business partners, and develop and report on key accomplishments and issues to upper management. Additionally, the role requires leading cross-functional workgroups for special priority contracts, creating and managing work plans, and facilitating the removal of barriers to ensure timely implementation of key contracts and providers. The manager will conduct project team meetings to establish and execute detailed project plans, report on key initiatives and accomplishments to leadership, and ensure proper documentation and SOPs are followed by staff. This position also involves implementing and maintaining key metrics for staff performance, managing the day-to-day operations of direct reports (including hiring, performance management, training, and staff development), and participating in network provider meetings, committees, subcommittees, and workgroups as necessary. The role requires managing multiple projects, collecting and analyzing data, and disseminating it to appropriate departments, as well as coordinating contract language change requests to ensure template accuracy and utilization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field, or equivalent years of relevant work experience is required
  • A minimum of three (3) years of progressive experience in health care or managed care is required
  • Experience in provider relations or contracting is required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
