About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Manager of Surgical Services to lead Operating Room operations at a Level II Trauma Center in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. This role provides 24-hour operational accountability for surgical services, ensuring safe, high-quality patient care delivery, regulatory compliance, staff development, and operational efficiency across a high-volume perioperative environment. Department Snapshot Facility: 267-bed acute care hospital Trauma Level: II OR Suites: 10 Main ORs + 2 CVORs Average Daily Surgical Volume: ~25 cases Direct Reports: ~62 FTEs Reports To: Director of Surgical Services

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred)
  • Minimum 3+ years of recent (within the last year) acute care Operating Room leadership experience
  • BLS certification within 30 days of hire

Responsibilities

  • Provide 24-hour leadership and accountability for Surgical Services.
  • Ensure compliance with Joint Commission and regulatory standards.
  • Oversee OR operations, staffing, scheduling, and resource management.
  • Maintain adherence to nursing standards of practice and hospital policies.
  • Lead interdisciplinary collaboration to optimize patient throughput and outcomes.
  • Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor core measures, patient safety metrics, and service excellence goals.
  • Participate in leadership rounding and proactively address patient care concerns.
  • Manage equipment, supply utilization, and departmental budgets.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and patient-centered care.
