About The Position

We are seeking a Director of Surgical Services to join our team. This person will be responsible for managing the OR at P&S Surgery and Heart Center.

SUMMARY:

Schedules daily staffing/cases/OR's/and break and lunch assignments. Works closely with the board Coordinator daily.
Monitors equipment usage/need and coordinates the loaning/borrowing of equipment ensuring it is logged properly and returned in a timely manner.
Serves as a resource for staff and leads with a "can do" attitude. Promotes the philosophy that "every case counts!"
Reviews future schedules and anticipates needs for cases/staffing/equipment in advance.
Makes decisions based on what is best for the patient.
Responsibly reflects consistent pattern with physician satisfaction with any concerns followed up with in a timely manner.
Completes employee evaluations, competencies, counseling and day-to-day management of staff.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
BLS required
PALS preferred
ACLS preferred

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
• BLS required
• Currently licensed in the State of Louisiana to practice as an RN, or holds a temporary permit in the State of Louisiana
