Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
  • Minimum of 1 year recent Director-level experience in acute care Surgical Services.
  • Minimum of 3 years progressive leadership experience within acute care perioperative services.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex surgical operations and multidisciplinary teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or Business Administration.
  • Experience overseeing multiple surgical specialties and service lines.
  • Strong physician collaboration and executive communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of surgical services, including operating rooms and procedural areas.
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality, patient-centered perioperative care aligned with evidence-based standards.
  • Lead patient throughput initiatives and optimize surgical scheduling and case flow.
  • Maintain compliance with accreditation, regulatory, and patient safety requirements.
  • Direct development and implementation of policies, procedures, and clinical standards.
  • Monitor quality metrics and implement performance improvement strategies.
  • Reduce variation in clinical practice to improve efficiency and outcomes.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead and develop perioperative management teams and clinical staff.
  • Foster engagement, retention, and professional development.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing models and competency alignment.
  • Partner with physicians and executive leadership to expand surgical programs.
  • Identify service line growth opportunities and support new program development.
  • Align operational strategies with long-term organizational objectives.
  • Lead annual budget development and ongoing financial oversight.
  • Manage labor productivity, staffing efficiency, and premium pay utilization.
  • Oversee supply chain utilization and capital equipment planning.
  • Identify and implement cost-reduction initiatives while maintaining quality standards.
