About The Position

The Manager of Supply Chain Operations leads and develops a team responsible for daily purchasing activities, including PO creation, expediting, vendor communication, and pricing accuracy. This role monitors order queues, material availability, and delivery performance to maintain operational continuity, and determines staffing requirements and team training & development. The position also oversees inventory accuracy processes, coordinates with Category Management for tactical buying alignment, maintains adherence to SOX controls, and leverages ERP & reporting tools for continuous improvement. The manager establishes clear goals and monitors progress for the division's Supply Chain Specialists.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in supply chain, procurement, inventory management, and leading people.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective business relationships with internal clients as well as supplier representatives.
  • Ability to prepare and give effective professional presentations at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to communicate, persuade and/or influence internal and/or external customers at all levels on matters of a technical and/or complex nature.
  • Proficient in commonly used reporting and statistical analysis methods/tools.
  • Ability to perform analyses involving ratios, percentages and simple statistical methods.
  • Advanced knowledge of various software applications for creating spreadsheets, documents, reports, financial analysis and graphics.
  • Knowledge of integrated purchasing and inventory control database applications such as Oracle, SAP, etc.
  • Strong people leader with experience coaching and developing supply chain or materials management teams.
  • Solid understanding of purchasing, replenishment, inventory management, and day-to-day buying activities.
  • Proven experience managing inventory accuracy, cycle counts, and field collaboration to resolve discrepancies.
  • Working knowledge of SOX controls and procurement compliance; able to partner effectively with Accounting.
  • Experience supporting Category Management strategies through tactical execution.
  • Comfortable using ERP systems and KPIs to drive performance, standardization, and continuous improvement.

Nice To Haves

  • A Masters degree or professional certification (e.g., CPM, CPSM) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and develops a team responsible for daily purchasing activities, including PO creation, expediting, vendor communication, and pricing accuracy.
  • Monitors order queues, material availability, and delivery performance to maintain operational continuity.
  • Determines staffing requirements and team training & development.
  • Oversees inventory accuracy processes including cycle counts, reconciliation, adjustments, and root-cause investigations.
  • Partners with the field to drive timely receipts, returns, and resolution of discrepancies.
  • Monitors safety stock, reorders levels, and demands signals to support optimal stocking strategies.
  • Coordinates with Category Management to align tactical buying with strategic supplier agreements.
  • Partners with Category Management to execute strategies at a tactical level including expediting, audits, KPI tracking, etc.
  • Maintains adherence to SOX controls related to procurement, approvals, receiving, and inventory management.
  • Collaborates with accounting to confirm documentation, workflows, and system transactions meet audit requirements.
  • Leverages ERP & reporting tools to monitor KPIs, inventory accuracy, and compliance metrics.
  • Drives continuous improvement efforts through process standardization & software utilization.
  • Establishes clear goals and monitors progress accordingly for the division Supply Chain Specialists to assure continuity across divisions and progress on corporate initiatives & requirements.
