About The Position

Subaru of Indiana Automotive Inc. is seeking a Manager of Supply Chain Development to oversee all internal and external elements of existing and prospective supplier preparation for new automobile model master schedules. This role involves defining and establishing supply chain operations roles and responsibilities, directing coordination procedures with other SIA functional areas, and overseeing new model development supply chain milestones. The manager will establish and monitor performance metrics for product cost, quality, and continuous improvement, lead cross-departmental communication, and provide subject-matter expertise for engineering changes and new product launches. Additionally, the role includes reviewing supply chain analyst reports to forecast demand and establish supply chain plans.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or Operations Management is required (a Foreign Educational Equivalent is acceptable); however, Subaru of Indiana Automotive Inc. will also accept a U.S. Single Source Bachelor’s Degree equivalent either through any suitable combination of education, training, or experience, or a professional credentials evaluation determined to be equivalent by a credentials evaluation service.
  • 24 months of experience as an Assistant Manager of Procurement, Supply Chain Analyst, or Logistician.
  • Little domestic travel (less than 20 days per year)
  • Little international travel (less than 10 days per year) to supplier sites in the United States, Canada, and Japan.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all internal and external elements of existing Subaru of Indiana Automotive Inc. (SIA) qualified supplier and prospective supplier preparation to ensure that suppliers are capable to produce and deliver parts as required on new SIA automobile model master schedule
  • Define and establish roles and responsibilities for all elements of SIA supply chain operations in the development of new automobile models
  • Direct procedures for coordination of supply chain management with other SIA functional areas, such as marketing, finance, production, engineering, and quality assurance
  • Oversee all new SIA automobile model development supply chain milestones and deliverables for SIA qualified suppliers and manage supply chain process across all SIA departments to ensure supplier preparation is achieving Key Performance Indicators on time
  • Establish and monitor performance metrics for measurement, comparison, and evaluation of supply chain factors such as product cost, quality, and continuous improvement for existing SIA qualified suppliers and prospective suppliers
  • Lead SIA cross-department supply chain operations communication to assure all inter-related elements are aligned and will allow SIA to achieve timelines as defined in master schedule
  • Provide supply chain subject-matter expertise in the coordination of engineering changes, product line extensions, or new product launches to ensure orderly and timely transitions of SIA qualified supplier parts
  • Review SIA supply chain analyst and coordinator reports to forecast demand and establish supply chain plans that ensure availability of materials
