Manager of Software/Controls (M5)

We're looking for a leader to run our software and controls organization. This is a high-visibility, high-growth-potential position with broad influence across multiple product lines. You'll set technical and strategic direction for the team, partner closely with adjacent engineering and product groups, and bring the best of Applied's global network to accelerate our developments. Requirements
- Proven track record leading software and/or controls engineering for robust, high-reliability systems such as industrial automation or semiconductor equipment.
- Experience running sizable engineering organizations, including leading other managers.
- Strong stakeholder management across multiple product lines, with a record of setting and hitting milestones.
- BS/MS in EE, CS, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 10+ years in engineering
- 3+ years in people management

- Demonstrated success leading geographically distributed teams, including offshore/India-based engineering centers, across multiple time zones.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the software and controls engineering teams, setting technical direction and execution priorities.
- Partner with the algorithms team lead to prioritize initiatives and align roadmaps across distributed teams.
- Work across multiple product stakeholders to define clear milestones and delivery targets for each product and hold the organization accountable to them.
- Lead globally distributed teams across time zones, including offshore engineering centers, and drive a coherent strategy across all sites.
- Leverage Applied's broader network to identify best practices and scale them across the organization.
- Apply AI tools and methods to improve team productivity and product capability.
