About The Position

St. Peter's Residence is seeking a Manager of Recreation & Volunteer Services. This position is responsible for the development and management of quality leisure and recreational programs, student placements, and volunteer services. The role involves designing, evaluating, and managing recreation programs to enhance residents' physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Additionally, the position ensures proper screening and documentation for volunteers and students, matches them with appropriate services, and maintains relationships with schools and communities to recruit them. The goal is to ensure programs meet resident needs and improve the quality of services within the home. Requirements

  • A post-secondary diploma or degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies, Therapeutic Recreation, Kinesiology, Volunteer Management or other related field from a community college or university.
  • At least three to five years of supervisory experience in a LTC or community health care setting.
  • Excellent relation-based leadership, communication, and public relations skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office, medical documentation, volunteer management databases, and time and attendance systems.
  • Ability to design and tailor recreation and volunteer programs to meet the individual needs of residents and care plan goals.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain relationships and build positive community networks.
  • A valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • Current knowledge of Gerontology and Long Term Care Homes Act and Regulations, 2007.
