About the role The Manager, Reactor Services is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and growth of TNC Services' reactor maintenance and field service operations. This role oversees the delivery of specialized reactor services, including refueling outage support, reactor vessel and internals inspections, maintenance activities, tooling, diagnostics, and technical field services for commercial nuclear power plants while ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction. Working closely with utility customers, project teams, and company leadership, the Manager, Reactor Services provides technical leadership and operational oversight for complex outage activities. This position plays a key role in expanding TNC Services' reactor service capabilities while fostering long-term client partnerships, developing high-performing technical teams, and driving operational excellence.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Power Plant Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience.
7+ years of experience supporting reactor services, refueling outages, reactor maintenance, nuclear plant operations, or related nuclear services.
3+ years of leadership or project management experience overseeing technical teams, outage execution, or field service operations.
Strong knowledge of reactor plant systems, reactor vessel components, reactor internals, primary and secondary systems, refueling activities, and nuclear maintenance practices.
Thorough understanding of NRC regulations, 10 CFR requirements, ASME Codes, nuclear quality assurance programs, radiological controls, and nuclear safety culture principles.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, OEM specifications, work packages, and technical procedures.
Experience managing complex outage projects, including estimating, budgeting, scheduling, staffing, and customer expectations.
Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software.
Valid driver's license with the ability to travel to customer sites.
Ability to travel up to 50%, including extended assignments during refueling outages.

Nice To Haves

Experience supporting commercial nuclear power plants in reactor services, refueling operations, or nuclear maintenance.
U.S. Navy Nuclear Program experience or equivalent commercial nuclear experience.
Experience working in radiologically controlled environments with a strong understanding of ALARA principles.
Experience with reactor vessel inspections, reactor internals maintenance, fuel handling support, underwater tooling, remote inspection technologies, or reactor diagnostic equipment.
Familiarity with ASME Section XI, EPRI guidance, INPO performance standards, and applicable NRC regulations.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent project management experience.
Experience managing teams across multiple nuclear facilities or outage sites.
Demonstrated success managing customer relationships and supporting business development initiatives.

Responsibilities

Lead the execution of reactor services projects, including refueling outage support, reactor vessel inspections, reactor internals maintenance, reactor diagnostics, and specialized field services.
Provide technical leadership for reactor maintenance activities, ensuring work is executed in accordance with plant procedures, engineering requirements, NRC regulations, nuclear quality assurance standards, and industry best practices.
Develop project scopes, work packages, schedules, staffing plans, budgets, estimates, and execution strategies for assigned projects.
Monitor project performance, schedules, budgets, and key performance indicators to ensure successful project delivery.
Support proposal development, technical estimating, bid preparation, and business development initiatives for reactor service opportunities.
Maintain accurate project documentation, maintenance records, inspection reports, and technical documentation to support operational and business decisions.
Supervise and provide leadership to reactor service technicians, maintenance personnel, subcontractors, and technical specialists during outage and maintenance activities.
Mentor and develop technical personnel through coaching, performance feedback, succession planning, and professional development opportunities.
Foster a culture of nuclear safety, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Partner with the Training Team to develop and implement technical and safety training programs while ensuring employees maintain required certifications, qualifications, and radiological training.
Ensure all work complies with nuclear safety culture principles, NRC regulations, quality assurance requirements, radiological controls, and customer procedures.
Inspect reactor plant systems, reactor vessel components, reactor internals, and associated equipment to identify hazards, deficiencies, or maintenance requirements.
Provide technical guidance for diagnosing and resolving complex reactor system issues while supporting safe and efficient outage execution.
Conduct audits and quality reviews to verify compliance with ASME Code requirements, NRC regulations, quality assurance standards, and company procedures.
Maintain awareness of evolving nuclear industry codes, regulatory requirements, emerging technologies, and best practices related to reactor services.
Collaborate with utility customers to understand outage objectives and develop technical service solutions that support safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations.
Build and maintain strong customer relationships by providing responsive communication, technical expertise, and exceptional service delivery.
Partner with Sales, Operations, Recruiting, and Project Management teams to ensure appropriate staffing and successful project execution.
Develop proposals, service agreements, and technical solutions aligned with customer needs and company capabilities.
Participate in customer planning meetings, outage readiness reviews, technical evaluations, industry conferences, and networking events to identify new business opportunities and strengthen customer partnerships
