About The Position

Reporting to the Director of Construction Management, the Manager of Project Management is responsible for leading and overseeing all project management activities from contract award through final closeout for architectural and miscellaneous metals fabrication and installation projects. This role ensures projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with contractual, engineering, and quality requirements. The Director of Construction Management leads Project Managers coordinates cross departmental efforts (estimating, detailing, shop, field operations), and serves as a key liaison with general contractors, architects, and owners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in structural, architectural, or miscellaneous metals project management
  • Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Proven ability to manage complex, fast-track construction projects
  • Comprehensive understanding of construction methods, contracts, and codes
  • Proficiency with construction project management software (e.g., Procore, Autodesk Build, Viewpoint, or similar).
  • Strong scheduling skills (MS Project or equivalent)
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to lead under pressure and resolve conflicts professionally
  • Results driven with a focus on team accountability and continuous improvement
  • Strong leadership and people management skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and evaluate Project Managers, fostering strong communication practices and relationship-building skills.
  • Establish, standardize, and enforce project management processes, procedures, and controls.
  • Support training, professional development, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Assign projects based on complexity, workload, and team capabilities.
  • Provide leadership for project kickoff meetings, progress reviews, and key coordination discussions.
  • Serve as a senior point of contact for general contractors, construction managers, and owners.
  • Resolve escalated issues related to scope, schedule, quality, and cost.
  • Provide technical guidance on metals scope, including architectural steel, ornamental metals, stairs, railings, ladders, embeds, and miscellaneous steel.
  • Ensure effective coordination between Project Management and Estimating during project handoff to maintain scope clarity.
  • Ensure collaboration between Project Management and Detailing to resolve constructability, sequencing, and tolerance challenges.
  • Ensure alignment between Project Management and shop and field leadership on fabrication and installation plans.
  • Ensure coordination with Purchasing and Logistics to support timely delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Promote and uphold company quality standards across detailing, fabrication, and installation.
  • Monitor and report on project costs, forecasts, and margin performance; proactively address risks and variances.
  • Ensure project schedules are aligned with detailing, procurement, fabrication, and field installation workloads.
  • Ensure Project Managers maintain compliance with contract documents, drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
  • Ensure Project Managers support project closeout, including as-builts, warranties, and final billing.
  • Personally oversee complex and multiple concurrent fabrication and installation projects from handoff through closeout.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
