About The Position

PharmaCann, Inc. owns and operates best-in-class production facilities and retail dispensaries for cannabis-based products. We currently operate in the States of Illinois, New York, Massachusetts, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Colorado and Michigan as a medical and/or adult use cannabis provider to patients and customers. We are looking for energetic, results-driven individuals to join our rapidly growing team and industry. Purpose This position is responsible for managing and directing the Packaging department with effective leadership and coordination to achieve the weekly dried flower packaging objectives. This role is responsible for overseeing the Packaging department team members, processes, packaging machinery, maintaining inventory of departmental supplies, and compliantly and effectively meeting packaging quota expectations. The Manager of Packaging role must lead and participate in their job with professionalism and safety, consistently. The Manager of Packaging will report to the Senior Manager of Post Harvest, while working in cohesion with the other Post Harvest departments to achieve most effective trimming, drying, curing, and packaging results. Pay for this role ranges from $70,000 - $75,000 / year depending on fit

Requirements

  • Must be eligible for the position based on state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Able to use a computer and/or hand tools while sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
  • Able to move about a typical office, manufacturing and warehouse environment.
  • Working with the cannabis plant, breaking it down by hand and scissors.
  • Potentially working with machinery to trim, sort, and package cannabis product.
  • Able to kneel, bend, reach, rotate, and stoop on an intermittent to regular basis daily.
  • Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Consistent on-time attendance for all scheduled shifts.
  • Prepared for over 40+ hour work weeks within this position, occasionally.
  • Occasional travel by conventional means including aircraft, motor vehicle and the like within the region and to other locations as required.
  • Preferred at least 1 year employment with PharmaCann to apply.
  • Preferred at least 1 years experience in a commercial cannabis operation.
  • Preferred at least 2 year of prior leadership experience to apply.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced production environment required.
  • Experience managing over 10+ employees is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Managing and delegating staff to achieve the daily and weekly objectives of the Packaging department to serve the company’s mission to package and prepare for exporting a variety of dried flower products.
  • Maintaining a consistent and compliant packaging, effectively manufactured in a timely manner to meet quota and quality standards.
  • Ensure the proper execution for all aspects of the department including management of the employees, management of the production of packaging all dried cannabis SKUs, accurately inventorying all packages, and maintenance and upkeep of the automated machinery.
  • Supporting the Senior Manager of Post Harvest towards all departmental progression of packaging, along with the contribution and participation towards the planning and organizing of exporting all dried flower products with the Manager of Supply Chain Order Fulfillment.
  • Managing the inventory system to maintain complete compliance and consistent organization.
  • This role is responsible for the training and development of the team member’s ability to operate and report in the inventory systems, such as NAV, and Google spreadsheets.
  • Assist with providing effective leadership to employees to ensure a complete understanding of and alignment to PharmaCann’s vision, mission and values to maintain a positive work environment and a high level of morale.
  • Ensure effective and appropriate communication with team members and Post Harvest Department staff to increase team unity and operative flow.
  • Ensuring all staff are following company defined protocols.
  • Enforce all company policies and regulations.
  • Assist in establishing initial and ongoing training for employees to ensure an adequate level of understanding regarding guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • Manage employees, including planning, assigning and directing work, examining performance and conducting evaluations, coaching, supervising, disciplining, addressing complaints and resolving employee issues.
  • Assist with developing and managing projects, including defining project scope, resources and achieving deliverables on time and within budget.
  • Clear understanding of workflow throughout the cultivation facility.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Senior Manager of Post Harvest.
  • Ensure upkeep and maintenance of the automated machinery through participation, practice, training, guiding, and disciplining accordingly to achieve.
  • Plan and carry out through the support of the Senior Manager of Post Harvest to guide and train Packaging department members to maintain proper organization of the Cultivation Packaging areas.
  • Manage the communication and reporting of dried flower concerns with the Senior Manager of Post Harvest from proper awareness of organization and analysis.
  • Ensuring that sufficient supplies for the Packaging department are ordered and available.
  • Manage procuring proper supplies and equipment, with recurring purchasing coordination with the Supply Chain department for essential replenishments towards workflow.
  • Provide direction and support to associates with a safe, well maintained, and organized work area.
  • Direct the Packaging department staff in upholding current laws and regulations towards the cultivation facility.
  • Adapt to updated laws and regulations to implement safe and effective practices to sustain highest quality standards and efficiencies.
  • Working with the Analytics department to organize and manage production of packaged company products efficiently and accurately.
  • Oversee and support the organizing and securing of all METRC tags and harvest batches.
  • Management of Standard Operating Procedures for the Packaging Department.
  • Update and track all required information in the Packaging department logs and spreadsheets daily.
  • Monitor and address situations which may include lost tags, minimizing bud/product loss.
  • Determine plants for extraction or discarding.
  • Direct the Packaging department staff in training and supervision to ensure compliance of the cultivation facility.
  • Manage, coordinate, train, coach, supervise, discipline, and analyze with staff to maintain compliant practices and workflow.
  • Any compliance or safety mistake or error created must be addressed, reported, and resolved.
  • Communication with appropriate leadership to ensure resolution.
  • Managing staff, including hiring and developing, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining, addressing complaints and resolving employee issues.
  • Ensure that individual and team performance meets PharmaCann’s standards of service and quality.
