Manager of Nursing Emergency Room
About The Position
The Nurse Manager, Emergency Services is accountable and responsible for the effective delivery of competent, compassionate, and efficient patient care in the Emergency Department. The role assists with the overall direction of clinical operations, human resources, staff education, and competency. Duties include staffing, scheduling, payroll, staff education, and oversight of the department’s clinical function and throughput. This is a full-time, day-shift position at Seton Medical Center Harker Heights, an 83-bed acute care hospital in Harker Heights, Texas, with Emergency Services and a Level IV Trauma Designated ER, among other services.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or agreement to attain it within two years of the position date.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license with the Texas Board of Nursing, or a current home-state license eligible for multistate recognition through the Nurse Licensure Compact.
- BLS certification within 14 days of hire or transfer and before providing direct patient care, or American Red Cross certification upon hire.
- ACLS certification within six months of hire.
- PALS or ENPC certification within six months of hire.
- TNCC certification within 18 months of hire.
- Five years of hospital Emergency Department experience.
- Three years of management experience.
