About The Position

The Manager of Neurosciences is responsible for the planning, management, implementation, and evaluation of operations and services within the Area’s Hospital Based Programs to ensure high quality of care, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. This role aligns the Hospital Based Programs with the system service line strategy. The manager provides input for capital requirements, prepares operating budgets, oversees ordering and inventory of medical supplies and equipment, manages contracts and vendor services, ensures maximum workforce productivity, and prepares reports for leadership. This position also serves as a liaison for patient care coordination with various departments including ED, inpatient units, patient access, medical staff, nursing, and ancillary services for Neuroscience patients. The manager leads quality initiatives, regulatory compliance, and policy development related to operations. They oversee business office functions, computer access, billing, and scheduling systems, ensuring staff are trained and transactions are recorded accurately. The role directs clinical outcomes by monitoring indicators, leading performance improvement, and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards. A strong focus is placed on maintaining a customer-focused environment, managing patient satisfaction, and developing corrective actions. Additionally, the manager performs human resources functions for staff, including hiring, development, evaluations, and conflict resolution. Establishing relationships with referring clinicians, hospital departments, and business development leaders to grow services is also a key responsibility. The manager must adhere to the organization's Code of Ethical Conduct and ensure compliance with all applicable policies, regulations, and laws.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing
  • Typically required 5 years of previous supervisory or management experience and related physician practice experience.
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the team member practices.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).

Responsibilities

  • Planning, management, implementation, and evaluation of operations/services for Area’s Hospital Based Programs to ensure high quality of care, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.

  • Overseeing ordering and maintaining appropriate inventory of medical supplies and equipment.
  • Managing all support or clinical services contracts or vendor services.
  • Ensuring workforce maximum productivity and preparing reports for leadership.
  • Coordinating patient care as a liaison with ED, inpatient units, patient access, medical staff, nursing and ancillary services for patients receiving Neuroscience services.
  • Providing leadership in the design, development, and/or implementation of quality initiatives and regulatory body requirements.
  • Developing and enforcing appropriate policies related to overall operations and creating new policies as operations change.
  • Creating an accountability infrastructure and monitoring operations for compliance.
  • Managing business office functions, computer access, billing, and scheduling system access, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
  • Providing direction and effective leadership for Neuroscience clinical outcomes by monitoring indicators and leading performance improvement initiatives.
  • Developing and implementing department standard operating procedures.
  • Ensuring all neuroscience operations follow all regulatory agency and accrediting Organization standards.
  • Assuring a customer-focused environment is maintained for all internal and external customers.
  • Implementing patient satisfaction tools, responding to patient experience initiatives, and developing corrective actions to improve satisfaction scores.
  • Performing human resources responsibilities for staff, including interviewing, selection, promotions, staff development, performance evaluations, compensation changes, resolution of employee concerns, corrective actions, terminations, and overall employee morale.
  • Establishing relationships with referring clinicians, hospital departments, medical group sites and Business Development leaders to create relationships and grow services.
  • Understanding and adhering to the organization's Code of Ethical Conduct and ensuring compliance with applicable policies, regulations, and laws.
