Barron Industries, a leader in aerospace and defense manufacturing since 1983, is seeking an experienced Manager of Machining Operations to join our team in Oxford, MI. This role will lead the build-out and launch of the initial precision machining cell, including equipment selection, installation, setup, and commissioning. The successful candidate will own the machining process from end to end, including drawing review, CNC programming, setup, tooling, and hands-on machining. They will develop and implement standardized workflows, processes, and best practices to support safe, efficient, and repeatable production, aiming to bring the initial machining cell fully operational and capable of producing quality parts to specification within the first 90 days. The role involves building, mentoring, and leading a growing team of machinists and an Applications Specialist as machining capacity expands. Ensuring all machining operations meet quality and compliance requirements, including ITAR, ISO9001, and AS9100 standards, is critical. The Manager will also partner closely with company leadership on machining strategy, equipment investments, and future capacity planning while maintaining clear ownership and accountability for machining operations.
