About The Position

Weaver Consultants Group is seeking a Manager of Land Survey to manage land survey projects throughout their entire lifecycle, ensuring client satisfaction. This role involves producing survey-related projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D, mentoring and training field staff, preparing calculations and project materials for field crews, and establishing survey field standards and quality control measures. The position also includes recommending field equipment purchases and upgrades, verifying the completeness and accuracy of field work, providing on-site supervisory assistance for field survey projects, and assisting with recruitment and evaluation of new hires. The Manager will also maintain constant communication with Leadership and Project Managers.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years relevant experience in land development (commercial, industrial, single-family, etc.) and municipal development projects preferred
  • Candidates with less direct experience may be considered if they possess other relevant or transferable experience
  • Must possess the Professional Land Surveyor licensure in Illinois or ability to obtain within 1 year
  • Advanced knowledge of survey field procedures
  • Advanced knowledge of survey equipment and software
  • Ability to evaluate field data and perform survey calculations in AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Ability to oversee and manage a project team of field survey staff
  • Verbal skills and organizational ability to communicate with project managers and staff
  • Time management skills

Responsibilities

  • Manage land survey projects for the entire project cycle while maintaining client contact
