About The Position

Reporting to the Director of IT Client Service Support, the Manager of Information Systems is responsible to champion the deployment of information and telecommunications systems and their respective technologies in support of the clinical, financial, and strategic missions. Responsible for positioning the facility with appropriate information technology systems to align with corporate standards. This role will serve as the point person between the facility and corporate information technology in driving solutions that benefit clinical, financial and operational needs. Supervise local Information Technology staff as well as providing feedback to the performance of corporate IT staff working primarily at the facility.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or higher preparation in a field relevant to hospital management or information systems or 10 years experience managing in a healthcare information technology setting.
Five years professional and managerial experience in management information systems, preferably in the health care environment.
Must express an understanding of health care issues, information systems, management issues, and current trends; be experienced as a facilitator, diplomat, and negotiator/mediator; express high energy, action oriented, and creative approaches to information systems issues and problems, and have a demonstrated record of bringing together diverse functions and build effective teams involving all categories of health care employees.

Nice To Haves

Experience with applications in clinical areas is highly desirable.
Prior experience desired in a broad range of technologies, including those technologies employed and considered in the near term.

Responsibilities

Lead the local assessment, evaluation and testing of software in conjunction with the corporate information technology strategic plan can best fulfill and support the clinical, financial, and strategic goals of the enterprise.
Analyze, evaluate, and propose network architecture: hardware, software, protocols, topology, and strategy.
Execute the capacity planning for peripherals, provide leadership for tactical and strategic planning for all network related activities, provide input to corporate partners to effectively negotiate system standard contracts, research/evaluate/recommend/install network wide services, analyze network problems and resolve.
Integrate with operations management to facilitate communications.
Serve as the onsite subject matter expert for new initiatives, aligning local needs with system technology goals.
Maintain responsibility for personal computer and associated peripherals deployment and configuration.
Enforce corporate standards for software platform, communications protocols, and configuration for standard workstation.
Collaborate with system teams in support of workstations, printers, bar code readers, scanners, and associated equipment.
Proactively monitor and analyze internal devices.
Provide local leadership for the Information Systems department and the information needs of the facility.
Manage a strong service organization including managing, retaining and developing staff.
Provide input to corporate IT on restructuring where necessary.
Develop relationships and explore opportunities that support the clinical, financial, and strategic objectives of the facility.
Provide access to information in supporting patient care, education, and research.
Provide business process analysis and reengineering whenever possible.
Provide persuasive presentation of value of technology, consensus building, and consulting skills is essential.
Provide management of system integrators and subcontractors.
Possess the ability to bridge information systems technology to users.
