Care for our community, and your career. The Human Resource Manager coordinates and manages the overall provision of Human Resources services, policies, and programs. This role oversees performance management, regulatory compliance, policy development, employee and labor relations, and compensation and benefits administration. The Human Resource Manager also develops and monitors metrics that support the achievement of the organization’s strategic and operational goals. Principal Duties and Essential Functions Human Resources Leadership & Administration Oversees and manages HR direct reports, fostering ongoing career and professional development. Assists in developing and monitoring the annual HR budget. Collaborates with HR consultants, attorneys, benefits administrators, insurance brokers, carriers, pension administrators, and other external partners as needed. Assists the VP of HR in developing departmental goals, objectives, and systems. Establishes and reports on HR departmental metrics aligned with organizational performance goals. Completes required regulatory reports including, but not limited to: EEO-1 Affirmative Action VETS-100 Form 5500 1095-C Annual employee notices Develops, implements, and maintains HR policies and procedures consistent with hospital policies. Ensures successful outcomes in reviews conducted by accrediting bodies, governmental agencies, and managed care organizations. Monitors dashboard metrics and quality indicators to support performance improvement initiatives. Ensures timely, accurate, and fair completion of performance appraisals. Reviews department workflows and implements improvements to enhance productivity and customer service. Oversees preparation for surveys, administrative reviews, and peer reviews; ensures compliance with licensure and accreditation standards. Implements corrective action plans based on review findings. Employee & Labor Relations Conducts investigations related to employee complaints and concerns. Advises managers and supervisors on progressive discipline processes and monitors performance improvement plans. Reviews and approves recommendations for employment terminations. Partners with leadership to communicate HR policies, procedures, programs, and legal requirements. Responds to union grievances and coaches managers through Step 1 grievance processes. Coordinates with legal counsel on employment-related legal matters and compliance issues. Oversees unemployment hearings and serves as employer representative. Participates in union negotiations and administers union contracts as primary liaison to union representatives. Resolves employee relations issues in accordance with established HR procedures. Compensation & Benefits Supports development of the organization’s compensation strategy to ensure market competitiveness. Monitors pay practices and compensation systems for effectiveness and cost control. Recommends equity adjustments and special compensation programs. Oversees benefits enrollment, annual re-enrollment, employee communications, and status changes. Obtains and analyzes benefit plan quotes to ensure competitive pricing and appropriate coverage. Oversees annual health insurance pricing and recommends plan adjustments. Conducts compensation and benefits surveys and recommends improvements. Ensures accurate processing and record maintenance for compensation and benefit programs.
