About The Position

Responsible for leading and executing the financial education and empowerment strategy, ensuring financial education, coaching and partnerships are aligned with strategic goals. Manages day-to-day delivery and performance of financial education programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, education, or related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience of 8+ years.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial education, coaching, or related programs.
  • 2+ years of progressive leadership or team management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of personal finance, budgeting, and consumer financial products.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Member service focus.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Positive attitude that supports a team environment.
  • Dependable and punctual; flexible during peak times.
  • High level of confidentiality.
  • Organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in financial counseling or coaching (e.g., AFC®, HUD counseling, or similar).
  • Experience working in a financial institution or community-focused organization.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day delivery and performance of financial education and coaching programs for members and community partners, including direct facilitation or presentation as needed.
  • Design, evaluate, and enhance financial education programs, workshops, resources, and coaching approaches to improve member outcomes and program effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with retail teams, Member Support Center, lending, Account Resolution, and other internal partners to identify members who may benefit from financial education and connect them with appropriate resources.
  • Define, monitor, and report on key metrics tied to financial education participation, effectiveness, and financial well-being outcomes, and use findings to recommend improvements.
  • Research and monitor trends and best practices in financial education, coaching, and financial well-being, and make recommendations to leadership.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external organizations, community partners, and vendors that support the delivery of financial education programming, including completing vendor due diligence as needed.
  • Represent the credit union externally in financial education initiatives, workshops, and partnerships that advance member’s financial well-being.
  • Identify recurring member needs, barriers, and product or service gaps through financial education programs and partner feedback and provide recommendations to internal stakeholders to inform potential solutions.
  • Provide on-going coaching to all team members that encourages personal, professional and career development.
  • Clearly define expectations of all team members.
  • Interview and hire the most qualified applicant for position openings.
  • Provide initial orientation and on-going support to team members on the mission, vision, values and leadership culture of the organization.
  • Plan and prepare for the future by being open minded, perceptive, and proactive.
  • Make decisions that support the members, the department and the organization as a whole both financially and strategically.
  • Ensure security measures are in place and adhered to regarding PCI and other highly secure data compliance requirements.
