The Manager of Facilities Management is responsible for overseeing the facilities of various healthcare properties, including inpatient hospitals, medical office buildings, diagnostic and treatment facilities, outpatient surgical centers, outpatient physical therapy centers, cancer treatment centers, and physician offices. This role involves managing utility plant operations and maintenance, leading a team of approximately 20 FTEs, and overseeing the biomedical engineering department. The position requires administering preventive maintenance and repair programs for medical equipment, preparing capital and operating budgets, and managing the purchasing of electricity and natural gas commodities. Additionally, the manager will coordinate with design contractors, manage bidding and contractor selection for construction and renovation projects, and provide leadership to ensure high standards of service within the department. A strong understanding of healthcare codes and standards, fiscal policies, and construction project management is essential. The role also emphasizes providing effective leadership through strong interpersonal and communication skills, fostering collaboration, and maintaining knowledge of relevant codes and regulations such as NFPA, OSHA, Joint Commission, CMS, and DEP.
