About The Position

The Manager of Enterprise Risk leads the Credit Union’s enterprise risk management, fraud risk management, and business continuity programs. This position works with department leaders to identify and address risks, coordinates the response to fraud and business disruptions, and provides leadership and the Board of Directors with information to support risk decisions.

Requirements

  • Five to eight years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.
  • Experience leading risk programs or significant initiatives and working across departments.
  • Credit union or banking experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in enterprise risk assessments, fraud prevention or investigations, and business continuity planning preferred.
  • A bachelor's degree in business-related field is preferred as the job involves a significant amount of written communication to internal/external customers OR equivalent credit union experience in the area of Risk.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and maintain the Credit Union’s enterprise risk management program, including its framework, risk assessments, risk register, and reporting.
  • Facilitate risk assessments with department leaders to identify significant risks, evaluate existing controls, and establish appropriate action plans.
  • Work with executive leadership to develop and maintain risk appetite recommendations, risk tolerances, and escalation practices for appropriate approval.
  • Develop and monitor key risk indicators and communicate significant trends, emerging risks, and exposures.
  • Evaluate risks associated with new products, services, technologies, partnerships, and significant operational changes.
  • Work with department leaders to strengthen controls and monitor risk mitigation activities.
  • Incorporate information from compliance reviews, vendor assessments, fraud incidents, audits, and examinations into the overall risk assessment.
  • Prepare clear reports and recommendations for executive leadership, management committees, and the Board of Directors.
  • Help employees and leaders understand their responsibility for identifying, reporting, and managing risk.
