About The Position

We are seeking a Manager of Electrical Engineering to lead and coordinate all electrical design disciplines and decisions across a portfolio of fast-track hyperscale data center projects. This role is deeply embedded in project execution, responsible for reviewing detailed electrical designs, resolving complex technical issues, coordinating with contractors and utilities, and participating directly in project, vendor, and customer discussions. Given the mission-critical nature of electrical systems in data centers, the ideal candidate has significant experience in both the design and operation of data centers, with a strong understanding of how design decisions impact construction, commissioning, reliability, and long-term operations.

Requirements

  • 12–18+ years of experience in electrical engineering and mission-critical or industrial power systems.
  • Significant experience with data center design and operations.
  • Significant experience with high-density power environments.
  • Proven ability to review and coordinate complex electrical systems and drawings.
  • Strong understanding of power distribution, protection and controls, and codes and standards (NEC, IEEE, etc.).
  • Ability to operate in fast-paced, lean environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license
  • Direct experience with HPC, AI/ML, or crypto data centers
  • Experience supporting utility interconnections and substations
  • Exposure to commissioning and operational turnover
  • Comfort interfacing directly with utilities, contractors, and customers

Responsibilities

  • Lead all electrical engineering efforts across projects, including utility interconnections and substations, medium- and low-voltage power distribution, transformers, switchgear, and protection schemes, backup power systems (generators, UPS where applicable), and grounding, bonding, and life safety interfaces.
  • Coordinate electrical design across concept, schematic, and detailed design phases.
  • Ensure alignment between electrical, mechanical, CSA, and technology systems.
  • Perform detailed reviews of electrical drawings, specifications, and calculations, including one-lines, load studies, and protection coordination.
  • Identify and resolve design gaps, constructability issues, and interface risks.
  • Ensure designs reflect operational realities, commissioning and maintenance needs.
  • Participate in design coordination meetings, contractor constructability reviews, utility and AHJ discussions, and vendor technical reviews.
  • Support field teams by responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and supporting energization and commissioning efforts.
  • Serve as a trusted technical interface with utilities, electrical contractors, and OEMs.
  • Manage electrical Engineers of Record and specialty consultants.
  • Review and approve deliverables for quality, completeness, and alignment with standards.
  • Support development and refinement of electrical design standards, reference architectures, and redundancy and reliability philosophies.
  • Incorporate lessons learned from construction, commissioning, and operations.
  • Balance standardization with site-specific and utility-driven requirements.
