About The Position

Under the direct supervision of Dean of Student Affairs, the Manager of Center for Student Success will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Student Success Center, including testing, career services, and student activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required in education or related field.
  • Three-five (3-5) years of work experience required.
  • Knowledge of academic advising, ADA policies, and other college student support services.
  • Advanced computer literacy including Microsoft Office Products (Word and Excel).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people with a variety of abilities and backgrounds, to maintain good working relationships across the college.
  • Ability to work with all groups from a variety of academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, and with community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities.
  • Highly skilled in prioritization; Able to adapt to changing needs.
  • Must be willing to become certified in necessary testing administration (ie. Pearson, Accuplacer, TEAS, etc.) within first 30 days.
  • High ethical values and must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and discretion.

  • Experience in higher education or student support services preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the overall functions of the testing center, including scheduling and proctoring assessments.
  • Uses a variety of learning and testing technologies including testing platforms provided by ATI, Pearson, ETS, and other testing vendors.
  • Coordinates space, furnishings, maintenance, supplies, printing, and security for the Student Success Center.
  • Trains, supervises, and evaluates tutors; tracks tutoring budget, submits appropriate purchasing requisitions, collects, maintains, and analyzes data related to tutoring services; coordinates with faculty in relevant subject areas to identify potential tutors; oversees scheduling of tutors, including schedule changes and maintenance of posted schedules for print, online, and digital display; update tutor contact information; schedule crisis tutoring for students in collaboration with faculty; maintain e-tutoring database, post e-tutoring schedules and provide e-tutoring services through OhioLINK.
  • Manages departmental budgets and purchase requisitions.
  • Conducts one-on-one career coaching; advises students with job search guidance, application support, and resume reviews; develops and implements communication strategies to promote opportunities for students.
  • Develops and supports on-campus career services opportunities and events.
  • Develops/conducts workshops to help students expand their knowledge about post-graduation career opportunities in the area.
  • Administers and interprets a broad range of career assessment instruments.
  • Data collection for reporting related to the position and institutional annual reports.
  • Develops, coordinates, and assesses a comprehensive student activities program of educational, recreational, social, and cultural programs that appeal to a diverse audience at the college and in the community.
  • Serves as the Advisor for the Beta Theta Mu chapter of Phi Theta Kappa.
  • Submits eligibility rosters, conducts induction ceremonies, organizes service projects, and requests payments through Phi Theta Kappa.
  • Advises and supports student organizations; ensures students organizations comply with college policies and offers continuous training to student leaders and advisors.
  • Works with the Director of Marketing to develop materials to promote workshops, activities, organizations, and other student-focused support.
  • Oversees assigned Federal Work-Study students as applicable.
  • Is knowledgeable about the Canvas learning management system to assist faculty in creating uniform and accessible student experiences.
  • Other work duties as assigned.
