Manager of Asset Recovery and Secondary Markets
About The Position
A&K Railroad Materials Inc. is seeking a strategic commercial leader to maximize the value of scrap materials, surplus inventory, used railroad ties, industrial equipment, rolling stock, and other secondary assets generated throughout their nationwide operations. This highly visible role involves combining market intelligence, business development, pricing strategy, and commercial negotiations to create new revenue opportunities. The position requires working closely with operations, leadership, and customers across North America to identify emerging markets, build strategic relationships, negotiate contracts, and drive profitability.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience
- 5+ years of experience in scrap recycling, metals sales, commodity trading, industrial asset recovery, or a related commercial role
- Strong business development, negotiation, and relationship management skills
- Knowledge of scrap markets, commodity pricing, and commercial contracting
- Strong analytical skills with experience using Microsoft Office and ERP systems
Nice To Haves
- Experience in the railroad, steel, manufacturing, foundry, or recycling industries is a plus
