About The Position

This is a management role where you will shape a brand-new function at the forefront of the observability space. As the Manager of Observability Architects, you will be a founding leader of a technically elite team redefining customer success in the industry. You will build and lead a team of in-house solution experts who will guide Grafana’s most strategic customers through onboarding, adoption, and expansion, ensuring they unlock the full power of the platform. This role offers the opportunity to make a global impact, influence product direction, and build a practice that sets a new industry standard.

Requirements

  • Located in a PST Timezone
  • 3+ years leading a team
  • 5+ years in the high tech industry having held roles such as TAM Manager, SE Manager, Developer, Sales Engineer/Architect, Manager, etc.
  • Direct experience mentoring, developing people and managing performance over time.
  • Deeply knowledgeable of the Operational Expertise in the Grafana Platform (LGTM) and/or competing observability products.
  • Direct experience selling monitoring/data/visualization products.
  • Creative in solving Customer Adoption Challenges.
  • Proactively assist customers with technical issues that may arise and assist in the troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Identify and provide timely workarounds and solutions to meet a customer’s business needs.
  • Extensive Grafana deployment design expertise
  • First class written and oral communication skills to collaborate with remote-first internal teams and worldwide customers.
  • Ability to skillfully articulate the value proposition and the technical advantages of Grafana products.
  • Love solving technical challenges and thrive on bringing creative solutions to customers.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Open Source selling or Cloud first/Product led sales go to market motion a big plus.

Responsibilities

  • Attract, recruit, ramp, and mentor a team of great Observability Architects from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
  • With the Engagement Management team, help define, build and execute impactful customer lifecycle frameworks.
  • Get the best out of your team with a servant-based leadership approach, adopting a player/coach mentality to balance field responsibilities with team needs.
  • Be responsible for retention and expansion.
  • Direct day-to-day work based on guidance and goals from leadership, owning the planning, actions and outcomes of the region.
  • Partner with the US Sales leadership on customer programs, marketing initiatives and community/company events to drive adoption and expansion within the customer base.
  • Provide executive sponsorship of key accounts in the region, acting as a thought leader to customers and internally within Grafana Labs.
  • Understand and contribute to key customers’ strategies for adoption of Grafana technologies, developing programs and collateral to enable them to achieve their goals.
  • Ensure that customers’ requirements are being met with the product through partnership with Product Management and Engineering.
  • Own and report on the quarter over quarter cadence of the team while they help prospects evaluate software with demonstrations, technical deep dives, trials and POVs.
  • Educate and enable viewers, editors, and architects on how to leverage the Grafana stack.
  • Assist with building/modifying critical SLA dashboards within the production environment.
  • Work closely with the sales team to articulate the overall Grafana value proposition, vision, and strategy to customers.
  • Proactively communicate with customers and internal teams to provide a feedback loop on products and the competitive landscape.
  • Work with the team to enhance documentation, write blog posts, record videos, contribute knowledge base articles, and create other public and internal enablement material.
