Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking a motivated and dedicated RN Manager, Nursing and Patient Care Services to oversee and guide the daily operations of one or more clinical areas within our nationally recognized healthcare system. About the Role As the Manager of Nursing and Patient Care Services, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the smooth, effective, and compassionate delivery of care within your designated clinical areas. You’ll lead by example—modeling best practices, promoting collaboration, and driving performance aligned with Sentara’s mission of safety, quality, and patient-centered service.

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or compact state
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Minimum of 5 years of RN experience in a hospital or acute care setting

Nice To Haves

  • Prior leadership or charge nurse experience
  • Critical Care Experience
  • Strong communication, organizational, and decision-making skills
  • Master’s degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration (a plus)

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of assigned units or departments
  • Foster a high-performing nursing team through coaching, mentorship, and support
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards
