About The Position

The manager is accountable and responsible 24 hours a day for managing and demonstrating leadership skills in the systems management of practice and/or operations issues. These activities should ensure appropriate outcomes and efficient and effective team processes; guiding activities of the area including, but not limited to, the staff, environment, and patients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree: Graduate of an accredited, state-approved school of nursing
  • 4 years In the specified clinical area
  • Team building skills with accountability to those teams
  • Good written communication skills

  • Master's Degree
  • College courses in management and organizational behavior

Responsibilities

  • Provides essential management functions to assure effective day-to-day operations.
  • Budget is within parameters.
  • Monitors and adjusts staffing as appropriate.
  • Audits time and attendance.
  • Conducts interviews, hires, and terminates staff in collaboration with Human Resources.
  • Participates in the long-range planning for the area by facilitating development and achievement of goals and objectives.
  • Monitors inventory and par leveling.
  • Monitors for compliance with all safety and infection control policies.
  • Facilitates the development and implementation of team processes.
  • Encourages involvement and equal work distribution.
  • Coaches team members in accountability and leads the team toward improvement.
  • Empowers the staff to make clinical and/or process decisions.
  • Interacts with all shifts.
  • Mentors staff through performance feedback processes.
  • Acts as a resource and support for staff in developing conflict management, delegation, and communication skills.
  • Moves the team to quality outcomes through shared planning, voluntary expression, and acceptance of members as valued individuals.
  • Monitors Performance Improvement/CQI reports and customer satisfaction reports for compliance and takes appropriate action.
  • Councils staff and completes disciplinary actions as appropriate.
  • Performance appraisal process is completed per policy.
