About The Position

The Manager Mission Learning & Program Development implements strategy for learning and program development. Oversees daily operations, direct staff and ensures implementation of departmental policies, procedures and programs. Maintains operating budget and manages expenses. Communicates budgetary performance. Typically works on projects and initiatives that span 1-2 years and focuses on the creation of systems, processes and programs.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree or experience equivalency, and a minimum of 3 years managerial experience or Associates Degree or experience equivalency, and a minimum of 7 years experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the development, cultivation, and implementation of learning solutions that increase competency/capacity and support Mission learning priorities.
  • Serve as an internal consultant by partnering with leaders and subject matter experts to identify learning solutions that drive outcomes; manage solution design, sourcing, development, implementation, reinforcement, and evaluation.
  • Establish evaluation with key success metrics/ROI alignment; analyze information from multiple data sources and best-practice research to recommend improvements.
  • Analyze, evaluate, and develop learning roadmaps; manage program updates and communications tied to those roadmaps.
  • Oversee centralized curation and deployment of Mission learning content inside and outside the LMS and/or other learning platforms, including attention to end-user learner experience (look/feel/functionality/ease of use).
  • Manage/select/prioritize relevant projects.
  • Manage and supervise assigned staff, with accountability for performance, development, and day-to-day people management responsibilities.
  • Partner with Mission department staff to assess, align, and implement content where appropriate.
  • Apply change management principles to involve end users and ensure project plans include communication and learning milestones.
  • Develop, implement, and lead operations of Mission partnership training and learning for internal/external Mission programming.
  • Partner with internal/external stakeholders to identify skill gaps, design customized learning solutions, and collaborate to achieve program deliverables.
  • Work with Mission Analytics & Quality to define/track program metrics and report progress on program milestones for stakeholders.
  • Plan and manage projects of low-to-moderate complexity; manage change with stakeholders and teams through effective planning and communication.
  • Oversee the Goodwill internship program and provide learning alignment and guidance to Mission workforce development programs in partnership with designated program owners.
  • Lead the alignment of GII Opportunity Accelerator and content initiatives with Mission learning and program delivery, staying current on enterprise best practices and guiding Mission teams on application and adoption.
  • Identify, synthesize, and apply relevant industry-recognized credentials and workforce development standards, partnering with team members to align learning content and programs accordingly.
  • Oversee program budgets and vendor relationships for assigned Mission initiatives, including tracking expenditures, managing vendor contracts, and communicating financial performance and risks related to learning programs.
  • Manages departmental structure, development and training of staff. Actively networks and sources for positions within the team.
  • Plans and manages projects of low to moderate complexity related to departmental function. Manages change with direct reports and participates in the leadership coalition that supports the change.
  • Understands social trends driving Goodwill's community engagement initiatives, and champions initiatives.
  • Responsible for completing other duties/responsibilities as assigned.
