About The Position

This position provides engineering and asset management support to Oncor Measurement, Transmission, and Distribution workgroups through a group of employees and contractors with expertise in the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of Measurement facilities. You will support the development and continuous enhancement of data-driven asset management strategies and perform technical analyses to identify and resolve metering issues on the Oncor system. This role supports technology demonstration projects and provides engineering support to the Transmission, Distribution, Legal, and Regulatory organizations on an as-needed basis. The incumbent is also responsible for the creation, modification, and maintenance of all Oncor Measurement engineering, material, and construction standards and participates with industry and regulatory organizations to influence domestic and international standards.

  • 5 plus years of electric utility related experience in design, construction, and/or operations is required.

Responsibilities

  • Directs activities for and provides planning leadership and budgetary oversight to the Meter Engineering and Standards organization.
  • Partners with Oncor stakeholders to develop, implement, and communicate standards.
  • Maintains strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, manufacturers, and suppliers to ensure availability of materials and equipment that meet Oncor specifications.
  • Provides technical and end-user support to Transmission and Distribution Engineering as well as Oncor Operations (Transmission, Distribution, and Measurement) on an as-needed basis, including root cause analysis and other asset management activities.
  • Provides leadership in data analytics for solution and strategy development.
  • Provides leadership in failure investigations, root cause analysis, and development of mitigation plans.
  • Continuously monitors and stays abreast of engineering and regulatory requirements, standards, and processes to design optimum facilities, including participation in or review of engineering standards organizations and assisting with internal engineering standards.
  • Provides industry leadership and periodic on-site host activities.
  • Participates in the evaluation and implementation of new technological advances and assists with process improvement initiatives.
  • Performs assigned regulatory tasks, including rate case support.
  • Provides Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) for the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) compliance effort as requested.
  • Provides company witnesses for lawsuits and PUCT regulatory filings on an as-needed basis.
  • Assists Oncor Legal with lawsuits by researching events, gathering facts, internal strategy formulation, depositions, and affidavits.
