About The Position

The Manager, Style Merchandise Execution ensures Macy’s store customers have an exceptional shopping experience by leading a team responsible for attractive merchandise presentation and store readiness. The role oversees merchandising activities such as product movement, price changes, signage, visual execution, event setup, and reverse logistics, applying creativity, visual flair, and trend knowledge to create inspiring fashion displays. The manager cultivates an inclusive, supportive team environment through coaching, training, and positive management. They implement merchandising standards suited to store architecture and product assortment, communicate and train teams on visual directives and brand requirements, and lead inventory management and team performance.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
3–5 years of retail management experience.
Ability to apply fashion and merchandise execution knowledge to drive sales and profits.
Proficiency leading visual merchandising communication, execution, and training.
Strategic ability in pricing, signage, visual presentation, events, and merchandising.
Knowledge of fashion trends and support for Own Your Style initiatives.
Ability to document work with photos and communicate strategies and expectations clearly.
Ability to manage, coach, develop, and motivate a diverse team.
Inventory management skills, including managing flow, placement, and organization.
Strong communication, writing, and presentation skills.
Ability to prioritize and act with urgency in a retail environment.
Ability to collaborate with customers and colleagues.
Competence using Microsoft suite, computers, and handheld devices.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on department and company needs.
Ability to meet physical demands including heavy lifting, constant moving, standing, reaching, standing for at least two consecutive hours, lifting at least 30 lbs., stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.
May need to reach above eye level.
Requires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Responsibilities

Apply fashion and merchandise execution experience to drive sales and profits.
Interpret seasonal and monthly execution guides and adapt merchandising standards to store architecture and product assortment.
Lead communication, execution, and training on visual merchandising directives, business-category standards, and brand partner requirements.
Create store displays using available resources.
Develop strategies for pricing, signage, visual presentation, events, and merchandising.
Provide strategic support for Own Your Style fixtures, fashion trends, and setups.
Lead DEI initiatives through mannequin and trend presentations.
Document work with photos to create visual resources for others.
Train the Manager of Sales & Customer Service on merchandising standards and techniques.
Interview, hire, train, manage, coach, develop, coordinate, evaluate, and discipline direct and indirect reports; establish work strategies and guide the team toward performance and behavioral expectations.
Address and resolve team concerns and coach team members in effective merchandising techniques.
Manage inventory receipt flow, placement, and stockroom organization.
Work a flexible retail schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Foster acceptance and respect and strengthen relationships with colleagues, customers, and communities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
