Requirements

  • Bachelors degree with 7+ years of relevant experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, as well as excellent customer service skills are required.
  • Must have a broad knowledge and thorough understanding of products and diseases that allow for independent provision of complex information that is accurate and meets all regulatory requirements.
  • Thorough grounding in clinical pharmacotherapy is essential.
  • Must be able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal departments.
  • Knowledge of industry Medical Information common practices, adverse event and product complaint reporting is needed.
  • Experience in a Medical Information department in the pharmaceutical industry.

Nice To Haves

  • Experienced in at least one of the therapeutic areas Gilead is engaged in.
  • An advanced HCP degree or university degree in life sciences and solid relevant experience with previous experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

Responsibilities

  • Providing written or verbal responses to healthcare professionals, consumers, and employees requesting medical/product information regarding Gilead’s products and therapeutic areas
  • Maintaining a record of all information dissemination via a Medical Information database
  • Recognizing, obtaining pertinent data on, and accurately transmitting any reported adverse events or product complaints to the appropriate internal departments in a timely manner
  • Working collaboratively with the field-based Medical Science teams to ensure appropriate follow-up with healthcare professionals occurs when indicated
  • Providing coverage for Medical Information booth at medical conferences.
  • Developing departmental metrics and procedures (e.g. work practice)
  • This position may be asked to mentor junior Medical Information staff.
  • Knowledge and appreciation of all applicable regulatory and legal requirements for Medical Affairs activities is essential, as is accountability for serving as a role model for others in line with Gilead’s Core Values.
