About The Position

The Manager of Materials Management directs hospital-wide purchasing and materials management functions, including purchasing, inventory control, material systems, and financial controls. The role provides professional support for supply processing, distribution, purchasing, receiving, and inventory management, and manages the flow of supplies and equipment from acquisition through disposition. Key areas include supply and capital budgets, inventory control, asset management, and compliance with organizational and group purchasing organization (GPO) contracts. The manager is responsible for department budget adherence, reviewing and analyzing departmental operations reports, participating in designated hospital committees, and ensuring department operations comply with state, accreditation, and other applicable agency guidelines.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or sufficient equivalent experience in Materials Management.
Computer literacy and working experience using software used in Materials Management.
Effective negotiation skills and analytical ability.

Nice To Haves

A minimum of five years of management experience in Materials Management in an acute care facility is preferred.
