About The Position

The Manager of Material Services is responsible for maintaining an adequate workforce to meet the cyclical demands of receiving, shipping, and issuing Frontier's multi-million-dollar assets to internal and external customers. This role ensures the highest level of accuracy and regulatory compliance in all inventory transactions and manages these functions in a multi-site, multiple-shift environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field required; Master’s degree preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience considered in lieu of degree requirement.
  • 5+ years of experience in a multi-site warehouse environment required.
  • 2+ years of experience in a materials environment required.
  • 3+ years of experience managing or supervising direct reports required.
  • Prior experience working in an airline or related aviation field preferred.
  • Inventory Control experience required.
  • Valid Driver’s License for SIDA Badge driving privileges at Denver International Airport.
  • Familiarity with Frontier’s GMM and all other regulatory requirements associated with Part 121 of Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interface with cross-functional departments.
  • Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint & Visio).
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects.
  • Ability to interface with union officials and maintain integrity of agreement.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, monitor, and coordinate SMS (Safety Management System) activities as directed, including development, implementation, maintenance, and integration of the SMS throughout Frontier.
  • Identify hazards and conduct safety risk assessments, including change management, and ensure the effectiveness of safety risk controls.
  • Promote safety and advise the accountable executive on the performance of the SMS and any need for improvement.
  • Be accountable for achieving safety performance relative to job tasks and manage risk to an acceptable level (blue or lower as defined by Frontier’s company risk matrix).
  • Direct Material Services Supervisors and Material Specialists in performing daily inventory transactions, shipping, and receiving duties, ensuring regulatory compliance of all actions.
  • Ensure all personnel within the department are properly trained and qualified to perform assigned duties.
  • Manage workflow and workforce scheduling across multiple shifts to fulfill departmental functions.
  • Develop and implement best management practices (BMPs) that meet and exceed internal customer expectations and monitor departmental performance standards.
  • Provide continuous training to staff and offer cross-training/job rotation opportunities.
  • Complete various metric and management reports along with the Inventory Analyst.
  • Maintain warehouses in showcase quality at all times.
  • Implement the use of technology to generate efficiencies and increase the accuracy of all transactions.
  • Ensure personnel within departments without Supervisors have current training and qualifications to perform assigned tasks.
  • Manage/Lead Material Services Supervisors and indirectly supervise Material Specialists.
  • Coordinate with other departments and vendors to ensure cooperation and compliance to support Frontier’s daily Operational requirements.
  • Monitor inventory control processes and procedures at stations where contract Materials personnel are in place and assist in providing ongoing training and support as required.
  • Transport aircraft parts and tooling between hangar and flight line.
  • Escort delivery vehicles into SIDA-controlled areas.
