Requirements

  • Strong operational experience in industrial, environmental, or energy services
  • Leadership experience managing teams in a field or facility environment
  • Solid mechanical understanding and comfortable working around equipment
  • Understanding that safety and compliance are foundational
  • Ability to balance hands-on involvement with leadership, planning, and administrative responsibilities
  • Clear and effective communication with teams, customers, and stakeholders
  • Organization, decisiveness, and reliability in a fast-paced environment
  • Pride in running a clean, compliant, and high-performing operation

Responsibilities

  • Lead all day-to-day facility and landfill operations, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient performance
  • Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing operations team, including hiring, training, and performance management
  • Own site health and safety programs, including safety meetings, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Foster a strong safety culture where accountability is shared across the team
  • Ensure full compliance with all environmental and regulatory approvals, maintaining proper documentation and audit readiness
  • Maintain strong working relationships with regulators and stay ahead of regulatory changes impacting operations
  • Oversee acceptance and handling of incoming materials in accordance with permits and approvals
  • Ensure accurate tracking, reporting, and audit trails for all material movement and site activity
  • Manage site equipment, maintenance programs, and third-party contractors to ensure reliability and uptime
  • Issue and oversee Safe Work Permits, ensuring all work is conducted safely and in compliance
  • Act as the primary point of contact on-site, supporting logistics, issue resolution, and relationship management
  • Support business development by identifying opportunities for service expansion and continuous improvement
  • Partner closely with operations, commercial, and engineering teams to align on priorities and execute initiatives
  • Support and oversee facility projects, including scope, execution, and commissioning
  • Monitor site performance, costs, and productivity, including ownership of budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
  • Manage CRM and operational systems to ensure accurate reporting, data integrity, and pipeline visibility where applicable
  • Ensure all administrative and regulatory reporting requirements are completed accurately and on time
  • Represent the facility and landfill during audits, inspections, and regulatory interactions
