About The Position

SEMI is seeking an experienced communications professional to join our Corporate Marketing team to manage and support marketing communications projects for SEMI corporate and regional products, programs, and initiatives. Responsibilities include the planning, development, optimization and execution of public relations campaigns with a sharp focus on press relations, content creation (press releases, blogs and social media), editing, and content performance across traditional search engines and AI-powered discovery channels. This role will help ensure voice, brand, messaging and discoverability consistency across all projects and campaigns worldwide, working with internal clients and representatives from our member companies. Other responsibilities may include coordination of press activities at events, tracking press coverage and communications metrics, applying SEO and GEO insights to content strategy, and website support. The ideal candidate has the vision and savvy to redefine and drive the public relations program to reach key target audiences and raise the association’s visibility. You are a self-starter and can manage your work and time effectively on your own, using available resources to find solutions to virtually any challenge. You are passionate and curious about all aspects of our business and have an adaptive mindset. This is a full-time, exempt position and reports to the Director of Marketing Communications at the SEMI HQ Milpitas office.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in public relations and/or communications (preferably within the electronics manufacturing industry in general and the semiconductor industry specifically)
  • B.S./B.A. or advanced degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing or related fields
  • A solid understanding of contemporary marketing communications practices and trends, in particular digital and social media
  • Familiarity with inbound marketing and content marketing concepts and strategies
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office
  • Excels working in a global organization with diverse geographies/regions and cultures.

Nice To Haves

  • experience with marketing communications automation tools (i.e. MuckRack, Sprout Social and Wrike) is a plus
  • Basic design skills and competency for website and social media graphics
  • Experience with event marketing (in particular attendee acquisition) is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of marketing communication campaigns, including strategy and objectives, copy writing, project management, review and editing, content optimization, distribution and measurement.
  • Apply SEO, GEO, keyword research, content performance data and AI search trends to guide content planning, messaging, web updates and campaign recommendations.
  • Oversee proactive and reactive press outreach to semiconductor industry trade press and partner with the Director of Marketing Communications on outreach program to top tier business press.
  • Maintain a consistent voice for corporate social media channels and create content in support of campaigns; partner with regional marketing teams and provide guidance to maximize the visibility of content; coordinate with vendors to select LinkedIn content to boost and target audiences.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional and international teams (including creative, product marketing, digital marketing, product and event managers, and executive leadership) to produce strategic and effective marketing communications products and campaigns.
  • Support development of messages, talking points, and briefs for internal staff and executives.
  • Develop and manage project timelines and schedules.
  • Communicate brand and support brand management with internal stakeholders.
