About The Position

Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. is seeking a Manager, Market Intelligence & Strategy to work with the Senior Director of Market Intelligence and Strategy. This role involves developing and implementing strategic plans and initiatives to support the company's mission of providing affordable and reliable power generation and storage solutions. The position requires collaboration with businesses to understand customer needs for decarbonization plans, performing Techno-Economic Analysis, Life Cycle Analysis, and GIS customer services for opportunity mapping. The role also involves staying updated on industry trends, policy, and regulations, supervising market intelligence teams, conducting market research, and identifying growth opportunities. Additionally, the role includes conducting investment trend analysis, demand and supply analysis, forecasting, and deep dives on energy and climate tech topics, incorporating this knowledge into strategic planning. Monitoring key performance metrics, adjusting strategies, and representing the company at conferences and events are also key aspects of this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in Engineering, Economics, Business or a related field plus 5 (five) years of experience in the energy industry, or related experience.
  • Experience with energy systems including natural gas and renewables, and emerging technologies involving hydrogen and derivatives, clean ammonia, carbon capture and storage and their roles in the energy mix.
  • Experience conducting market research, forecasting, and analysis to identify new opportunities.
  • Experience with Policy and Regulatory Analysis - North America Climate policy and regulation analysis and economic impact of financial incentives, carbon pricing and carbon markets (carbon market modelling, carbon pricing systems).
  • Experience with Techno-Economic Analysis including levelized cost of Electricity, Hydrogen, Energy, Carbon Capture, Ammonia, Storage).
  • Experience with Techno-Economic Analysis (Project Economics - IRR, NPV, Revenue, Profits) for Energy Transition markets (hydrogen, energy, carbon capture, etc.).
  • Experience communicating technical-economical and market insights and information.
  • Experience with Life Cycle Analysis using GREET model for Carbon Intensity analysis.
  • Experience with strategic planning and implementation – development of a Go to Market strategy based on technical-economic and market information.
  • Experience with Geographic Information Systems - Opportunity Mapping Development - ESRI / mapping tools.
  • Experience with project specific Techno-Economic Analysis for Energy Transition markets.
  • Experience with Economic Outlook Model Development (Supply/Demand, Cost, Prices).
  • Experience with Competitor and Technology Analysis - Company level and technologies, OEMs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives that promote the company's mission of providing affordable and reliable power generation and storage solutions.
  • Collaborate with businesses to better understand and capture customers' needs for their decarbonization plans.
  • Perform project-specific Techno-Economic Analysis, Life Cycle Analysis, and specialized GIS customer services for opportunity mapping on esri platform.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of industry trends, policy, regulations, and their impacts on the energy system and emerging technologies.
  • Supervise the Market Intelligence and Strategy teams.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify new opportunities for growth and development, and meeting customers’ needs.
  • Conduct investment trend analysis, demand and supply analysis, forecasting, and deep dives on specific energy and climate tech topics with support of businesses.
  • Incorporate market knowledge into strategic planning and decision-making processes with key partners.
  • Monitor and report on key performance metrics, and adjust strategies as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Represent the company at conferences and events.
  • Participate in relevant associations and working groups.
