About The Position

Europastry is seeking a motivated and experienced Manager - Maintenance. This role involves managing the development, implementation, and maintenance of all programs related to Preventative Maintenance and other maintenance activities. The manager will plan work around production schedules, considering machine, material, and manpower availability, and recommend capital investments to improve equipment availability. A key aspect is managing an effective preventive maintenance system to minimize equipment downtime.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with individuals possessing various degrees of technical expertise.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and MP2.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Good interpersonal skills.

  • Bachelor's degree, plus 7-10 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a highly functional Preventative Maintenance (PM) program, leveraging MP2 in collaboration with operations and maintenance staff.
  • Train supervisors and relevant personnel to ensure program effectiveness.
  • Direct the preventative maintenance process to optimize production operations for maximum efficiency and productivity.
  • Manage preventative maintenance projects, ensuring timely completion within budgetary constraints by coordinating with project personnel.
  • Collaborate with Shift Foremen and Maintenance Supervisor to review production scheduling and devise repair and maintenance schedules, ensuring minimal production loss, downtime, and maximum efficiency within budgetary limits.
  • Ensure all maintenance employees (mechanics, electricians, electronics technicians, etc.) have necessary materials, tools, drawings, and inspection gauges to perform tasks within established work and safety standards.
  • Provide on-site assistance and instruction to subordinate personnel, ensuring smooth workflow and addressing any operational issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with Managers, Maintenance Supervisor, and support departments to address various matters and problems, including personnel schedules, machine maintenance, breakdowns, and shortages.
  • Analyze current procedures and develop strategies to improve production efficiency, enhance people skills, and reduce operating costs.
  • Possess strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, and mechanical repairs within a facility setting.
  • Attend scheduled company meetings, such as safety, production, and departmental gatherings.
  • Inform supervision of any arising problems or complications promptly.
  • Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as required.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple tasks, adjust priorities, and collaborate effectively with senior staff on safety, quality, employee development, and process improvement programs.
  • Evaluate and coordinate training needs for preventative maintenance personnel, integrating quality and safety training standards.
  • Assess staffing needs of production lines and maintain budgeted resources to optimize output.
  • Coach and guide team members needing development, and handle disciplinary processes as necessary.
  • Responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly scheduling and resource allocation to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Monitor team member performance, provide feedback, and document results through performance appraisals.
  • Manage employee relations within the team and foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Assign duties and monitor the effectiveness of daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance efforts based on corporate and plant requirements.
  • Conduct effective team meetings and compile performance reports.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives across all shifts.
  • Create and promote a team environment, manage conflict, and resolve issues.
  • Support the maintenance team and foster cooperation and customer service to internal customers.
  • Provide a long-range and strategic vision for the department in alignment with facility and company goals.
  • Serve as a resource for supervisors and and other maintenance personnel to accomplish their goals effectively.
  • Ensure all preventative maintenance personnel understand expectations and performance measurements.
  • Coordinate with other departments to solve problems and align plans with company and plant goals.
  • Manage the department to develop a strong, unified team focused on achieving goals in a cost-efficient manner.
