About The Position

Manage all aspects of the maintenance department and engineering, including managing maintenance costs, contractor-performed maintenance, regular and preventive maintenance, and new equipment installations and improvements.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of relevant work experience
  • 2-5 years of experience in a plastics or fabrication environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree – Technical Management or Plastics Engineering
  • Safety sensitive position - ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner
  • Ability to handle the stress of working with others
  • Ability to be available outside of normal work hours
  • Ability to assess employee performance and coach and develop others
  • Ability to lead by example
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of roles
  • Ability to use and influence organizational policies, standards and procedures guiding manufacturing practices
  • Ability to lead multiple operation initiatives, including training, development, operational standardization and equipment normalization.
  • Knowledge of the electrical, mechanical and logistics equipment used in manufacturing, including its safe usage, maintenance and storage
  • Knowledge of technologies and applications used in manufacturing products and in the optimization of manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of methods, accepted practices, considerations and regulatory requirements associated with safety and protection of the employees, environment and site
  • 5% - 15% travel
  • Valid driver’s license required/Motor Vehicle Report Required

Responsibilities

  • Build, lead, and train a cohesive team for maintenance and engineering employees focused on company objectives of safety, quality, service, and efficiency.
  • Oversee all corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance activities for production equipment and facility systems.
  • Oversee the design, planning, and execution of capital improvement projects, equipment installations, and facility upgrades.
  • Drive and apply lean principles to the maintenance processes to minimize waste and increase the throughput.
  • Use data collection processes to evaluate unplanned downtime and implement corrective actions to drive metric improvements.
  • Maintain spend forecast and approve monthly R&M spend for the facility.
  • Organize, lead, and track capital projects.
  • Partner with production and quality teams to introduce new processes, improve existing equipment, and support operational excellence.
  • Maintain facility standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
