Reporting to the Senior Manager, Translation Services, the Manager of this unit is responsible for the French translation of materials supporting the bank’s business. In this role, the Manager, in collaboration with the Translation Project Specialist, assigns work to appropriate resources. This includes prioritizing projects, identifying appropriate resources (in-house Translators and/or external vendors), and maximizing in-house capacity for efficient resource utilization. The Manager coordinates timelines with internal partners and negotiates deadlines with external vendors. They also prepare for translation assignments by communicating with requestors for further information when details are incomplete. A key responsibility is revising texts translated by unit employees and external providers to ensure quality and accuracy, with occasional translation duties when specific situations require it. The Manager provides ongoing training and coaching to supervised employees, assesses their performance, and escalates any performance or HR issues to the Senior Manager. They contribute to a positive work environment and the smooth operation of the department by following administrative procedures, ensuring fair treatment of team members, and participating in resolving issues from employee engagement surveys. Additionally, the Manager participates in objective planning, process definition, and other management tasks related to their unit as requested by the Senior Manager, ensuring the highest quality of services by meeting or exceeding Service Level Agreements.
