About The Position

Primary purpose: Manage and directly support Land & Right of Way staff related to real property acquisition, management, and disposition, including but not limited to fee title ownership, rights of way, permits, licenses, leases, and encroachments of company assets. In addition, manage and support landowner/agency notifications, damage negotiations and payments, litigation support, partial releases, third-party condemnations, quiet title actions, damage prevention support, interpretation and communication of easement rights. This position will be filled at a level commensurate with the candidate's education and experience. Demonstrate and enforce the highest professional integrity, ethics, and safety discipline. Demonstrate and reinforce a culture of regulatory compliance. Collaborate and communicate with a variety of people with tact, courtesy, and professionalism. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a related field such as land management, energy management, geography, business, engineering, law, etc. is preferred or 10 years of equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience with right-of-way responsibilities in the energy sector.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years with direct people management.
  • Knowledge of real property law, business law, commodity pricing, title examination standards and procedures, agricultural and ranching practices, and general pipeline construction and operations activities.
  • Knowledge of engineering terminology, drawings, and maps.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local governmental laws and regulations relative to acquisition, maintenance, and management of real property property interests.
  • Knowledge of applicable company standards for pipeline operations, real property acquisition and management, title sufficiency documentation, common pipeline facility construction, project accounting and tracking, etc.
  • Knowledge of land-related computer applications.
  • Demonstrated success in managing project budgets.
  • Demonstrated superior leadership outcomes in the areas of leading self, leading others, and leading an organization.
  • Proven ability to drive positive change with continuous improvement.
  • Intermediate proficiency level in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills necessary to work with superiors, peers and subordinates including supervision of independent land contractors.
  • Must be able to perform all essential and marginal functions of the job.
  • Must be able to work with a team, take direction from management, adhere to required work schedules, and follow company policies.
  • Ability to successfully perform multiple tasks with strict deadlines and prioritize work.
  • Ability to work as a key member of an integrated project team and to transparently manage all aspects of property related concerns to minimize impacts to a project’s budget, schedule and the overall operability of assets.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision, guidance, and support of day-to-day Operations activities for Land & Right of Way staff.
  • Manage and directly support Land & Right of Way staff related to real property acquisition, management, and disposition.
  • Manage and support landowner/agency notifications, damage negotiations and payments, litigation support, partial releases, third-party condemnations, quiet title actions, damage prevention support, interpretation and communication of easement rights.
  • Represent company to third parties (landowners, tenants, governmental entities and agencies, land developers, mineral developers, energy transportation and utility companies) in matters related to company, real estate, and other company assets acquisition.
  • Provide support to the Legal department for legal controversies, condemnations, litigation and document preparation and review related to real property issues.
  • Supervise and support the technical advancement, career development, and training of each assigned employee.
  • Foster a positive open work environment, systems approaches and disciplined execution of all assigned tasks.

Benefits

  • The annual salary range for this position will be $147,000-$180,000/yr.
